All American Gift Idea..

My husband and I were fortunate enough to take the holiday tour of homes on our recent trip to Savannah.  As if these historic houses aren’t beautiful enough on their own, they were bedecked in holiday finery- southern style.

One of the homes we toured smelled beyond fabulous. I knew it had to be a candle, and I finally found it burning on the counter in the kitchen.  By this point, many others on the tour were remarking about the incredible scent.  The docent eagerly shared that the candle was purchased at a brand new honey-shop in town.

After we had lunch, my husband and I embarked on an exhaustive search for this store.  Unfortunately, we were inching ever closer to the start of the Army/Navy game and my man was rapidly losing his enthusiasm for the hunt. (Let’s see..watch football or find a candle- watch football-find a candle.. 🤔)

Finally we found a bar that had the game on their TVs, so I dropped the hubster off to watch his game and continued the search on my own, ultimately finding the place waaaay far away from where we were looking.

It was totally worth it.

The candle that was burning in the home we toured was called”Biscuits & Honey” and unsurprisingly, it had sold out by the time I got there.  So I bought “cornbread & Honey” and “Perfect Morning” instead. (Perfect Morning smells like coffee brewing)

I HIGHLY recommend these soy candles if you are looking for a gift at around the $20 price point. This is a small American business in Illinois with around 15 employees, mostly moms. In fact the warehouse where they work is across from the local school so their kids can simply walk right over the field at the end of the day. Lucky for me, the couple selling these delicious smelling candles in Savannah were themselves young entrepreneurs so it was a thrill to support small American businesses from start to finish.

Obviously they sell these candles at a fast clip, so get your order in before it’s too late!

The honey shop in Savannah is located on East Broughton Street, directly across from East End Provisions; a new little eatery with great cocktails.

    • Hey Kim..which one did you get? I wish there was a store around here that sold them so I could smell more of them. I burned the coffee one today and it smelled so good..have a feeling I’ll like the cornbread and honey one even more. 💜
