I don’t know where I’d be without it.

I rely on my navigation system every day as I make my way around the city of Charlotte; a huge, sprawling, congested area that I am still wildly unfamiliar with.

One of my favorite things to do is to just drive around and explore. I’m looking for parks and museums, dry cleaners and restaurants..just getting a feel for the place.  When I am ready to head back home, all I do is press one button and I am immediately, safely guided right back to my driveway-

no matter where I am.

Two days ago I found myself stopped at a traffic light, deep in some section of ‘who-knows-where,’ when it struck me that I had probably strayed into the wrong “neck of the woods.” It may have been the girl in tight pants and heels sashaying in front of the “Relax Inn” that tipped me off.

I didn’t panic, I just pressed “HOME” and followed that soothing voice right back to familiar territory.

My relationship with God is a lot like my relationship with my navigation system. I know He is always there for me and can always be relied on. It is His presence and love that gives me the confidence I need to break through self-imposed boundaries and limitations- push though fear- and live my life in fullness. If I take the time to seek His direction before I set out on my day, I know that I will not run into dead ends and take wrong turns that lead to frustration or despair. And no matter how terribly lost I may get if I’m “free-wheeling it”..I can immediately reach out to my heavenly Father and find the guidance I need to get my life back on track. He is always there.

God is completely able to direct me out of whatever messes I get myself into.  If I am willing to ask, listen and look, He will provide a clear path and show me His way..every single time.

The Lord is my rock and the compass for my life. I truly would be hopelessly lost without Him.

The Lord will guide me continually. (Isaiah 58:11)

God will show me the path of life. (Psalm 16:11)

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. (Psalm 119:105)

God will instruct me and teach me in the way I should go. He will guide me with His eye. (Psalm 32:8)

Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the LORD your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.- Deuteronomy 31-6

    • Same here..although a few times my NAV has re-routed me and I wasn’t convinced there really was a problem. Once, it actually-verbally- told me there was a “car fire” ahead (seriously) and re-routed me off 95- I ignored it, and there was nothing. Hmmm… Chinese hacking into satellite system? (car fire?)
