A person’s steps are directed by the LORD. How then can anyone understand their own way?
My husband called from out of town last night. Half way through the conversation he said, “wow, I really think I’m lost!” He had been walking through an unfamiliar part of a city trying to find his hotel. The poor guy was exhausted after a long day.
There really are two kinds of being lost: One is you know where you want to be but can’t figure out how to get there, the other is when you know where you are but can’t decide where you’re going. Both can be upsetting.
My daughter admitted she’s been irritated lately because her career path seems rather cloudy. She is the most organized person I know and absolutely hates not having a clear plan.
It’s at times like these when we need to open our minds and hearts to God’s word and his guidance. When the fog settles over our lives and we can’t see a way forward, the best thing to do is to be still, and listen for His voice.
Proverbs 3:6 In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.
