The recent death of 47 year old David Goldberg, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg’s husband, supposedly in a treadmill accident at a hotel, is shocking. The stats on treadmill accidents are as follows: For starters, Treadmill related deaths are rare.  From 2003-2012 there were only 30 deaths. (USPSC) Injuries from treadmills, on the other hand, are far more common. In 2014 alone there were 24,400 treadmill accidents reported in Emergency rooms. Accidents on treadmills tend to send more people to the doctor because unlike self powered equipment, treadmills are motor-propelled. So be cautious, and if you are dizzy or unwell, avoid these machines until you feel better.
